Meet Dr Uwineza

“Supporting children, partnering with families.”

Dr Aimee Uwineza is a specialist paediatrician passionate about supporting the health and wellbeing of newborns, children and adolescents. She believes in building strong partnerships with families and other healthcare professionals, providing thoughtful, individualised care and helping every child grow, thrive and reach their full potential.

As a mother herself, Dr Uwineza understands both the joys and the challenges that come with caring for a child. This perspective complements her medical experience and shapes her warm, family-centred approach to care.

She is committed to providing compassionate, evidence-based paediatric care throughout every stage of childhood, while ensuring that families feel heard, supported and involved in their child’s healthcare.

Training & qualifications

Dr Uwineza completed specialist paediatric training at Universitas Academic Hospital, Bloemfontein, obtaining her FCPaed (SA) through the CMSA and a Master of Medicine (MMed) in Paediatrics from the University of the Free State. She graduated with her MBChB from UKZN, completed internship at the Pietermaritzburg Hospital Complex and community service at Job Shimankana Tabane Hospital.
